Fútbol femenil: una percepción de género a través de la prensa

This article aims at describing and analyzing the historical and social conditions that allowed the coming and strengthening of the first forms of the organized supporters in Rio de Janeiro, in the early 1940's. We could notice that apparently certain exterior aspects o f the organization of the supporters (cult to the leader, discipline, order) and the dictatorial atmosphere of the "Estado Novo" regime (1937-1945) would bring together the supporters and the conservative movements. However, the characteristics of the sport field led us to consider the predominance of the supporter's carnivalesque touch the focus of themselves. The supporters had cultural codes, forms of organization, and personal projects which could back up or resist to alien forces according to their own interests.
